Cent Brockage Error

It happens when two cent coins are involved. First a blank cent coin is struck and when it is ejected, it does not eject properly. That struck cent coin will find its way back between the dies and the dies will strike this improperly ejected cent coin into the next blank that was fed into the collar. Typically the reverse of the improperly ejected cent coin gets then pressed onto the obverse of the blank cent and it will be a mirrored strike. Most of the time only part of the blank cent gets this error strike. On some occasions it is possible that the improperly ejected cent coin finds its way back perfectly and does a perfect brockage in which the image of the improperly ejected cent coin gets pressed completely covering the obverse of the cent blank planchet. The result is ofcourse an incuse press result. On some occassions the improperly ejected cent coin will flip and the other side of the cent coin will be incused onto the cent blank. Commonly the result will have the cent coin slightly offcenter and much less common the result will have it on center.
